This is a grant-winning project for the competition promoting liveable cityscapes in small towns and historical settlements, endorsed by the Ministry of Construction, Housing, and Utilities of the Russian Federation.
With the population of 29 000, Bogdanovich is a major junction of the Trans-Siberian railway, located between Yekaterinburg and Tyumen.
The competition bid comprised research and a project proposal for three town areas with urban development potential.
To bridge the gap between the southern and northern parts of Bogdanovich, divided by railway tracks and the national highway, it was proposed to restore the pedestrian bridge and build a road bridge near the railway station. Another objective was to revitalise the central street and its adjoining public spaces.
The third territory was the most appealing green area in the north of the town near Kunara river.
